91.0. "Joneses, The" by NAVIER::STARR (Would you like to go to heaven tonite) Mon Aug 27 1990 04:08

The Joneses are a Boston-based band that just released their first
album on Atlantic Records. Not truly heavy metal, they are more in
the hard-rock vein - very reminicent of Bad Company and Foreinger.

Band Members:

David Finnerty - Vocals, guitars
Billy Loosigian - Guitars
Brad Hallen - Bass, vocals
John Sands - Drums, vocals

Songs on the first album, which is entitled 'Hard', are:

Everything Changes
A Little Love
Steppin' Out
Don't You Know (the single)
Let's Live Together
Hard
Leavin' With The Light
Hard Road
Reconsider
Mean Woman
Bollweevil Stomp

'Everything Changes' and 'Let's Love Together' are initial favorites of mine,
but I'll need a few more listens to pick out the best tracks....

In addition to be pretty damn good music, its recorded great also. Its a full
DDD recording (suprising for a new band!), and sounds real nice.

They still play the local clubs, but I haven't seen them live yet. But after
checking out the CD, they're next on my list!!!!!

Perhaps it will be more common now, even a toenail such as I could go
into Newbury Sound and for so many bucks an hour get a digital
multitrack studio to record with. As the technology seeps down thru
the sewers of off-time scum such as I am want to use so shall even the
    worst toe-scum bands use it.

Not that I wouldn't stink up the place, though.

Last year when my band was in the battle of the bands, they were
like two bands in front of us.. I didnt think they were that good!!

i think I have heard more stuff recently that should be signed instead
of them... same goes for another band that just got signed...

    oh well...jmo.

The Joneses are playing some song on the radio (KNAC, KLOS) for a
commercial. I can't remember the name of the song, or the product,
but I do remember Billy L. from high school bands, way back, in
Salem, NH. He was a good player then, and has gotten better over the
    years.
