461.0. "Manitoba's Wild Kingdom" by MILKWY::SLABOUNTY (They call me Dr. Love) Mon Jun 04 1990 12:40

I heard "The Party Starts Now" on the HBB, and it's different
enough to be an OK song. Starts out somewhat "rappy", like
"Fight for Your Right to Party", and then gets into more of a
    	'song'.

This song is short!! It takes me longer to FF through some
songs than it takes to watch this video!!

I think that song sounds EXACLTY like the Beastie Boys. As a matter
of fact for awhile I thought it was new Beastie Boys. I like the tune
    it's funny. - Kim

Yes, Ross The Boss was in Manowar, palying guitar. He was also in a group called
The Dictators, which was a bit like you discribed for "Manitoba Wild ...".

    Zoinks.

Ross the Boss, Scott "Top Ten" Kempner, Adny Shernoff and Mark
"The Animal" Mendoza used to be, once upon a time, in the Dictators.
    Mr Mendoza went on to relative fame in Twisted Sister; Ross in Manowar;
    Scott with The Del Lords.

If I'm guessing right, Manitoba's Wild Kingdom features "Handsome"
Dick Manitoba on lead vox. He was the Dic's roadie, turned star and
had his image, in full pro wrestling regalia, on the cover of their
opus, _Go Girl Crazy_, which I've recently acquired but (damn) not been
    able to listen to yet.

Man (or should I say "Homme"), that Didier is always up on the bands
    that matter(ed).

Manitoba's Wild Kingdom plays tonight at Axis, I'm told.

Are you still asking if it's Dick? Yes, it is him.

What a coincidence, I was reading some rag last night and ran
across a write up. I guess Dick's new stand on saying not now
to drugs and alcohol has done him some good.

The Dictators "reformed" for a quick little tour about 3 or 4
years ago. It was around when TS lost AJ Pero to Cities and before
they grabbed Joey Franco. They were scheduled to play the Channel but
if I remember correctly the show was cancelled due to a snowstorm.
Would have liked to have seen 'em.
