322.0. "Mudhoney" by WAV13::FINK (Gone to see the riverman) Wed Feb 28 1990 17:13

WHAT? No notes on Mudhoney? Weird.

They are this totally cool quartet from Seattle, I think, uh, I'm really not
too sure... well, if you like early Blue Cheer, you'll probably like these
guys. Check'em out if they're in your neighborhood.

Someone want to help me with this? Who's heard 'em? I gotta get out of here...

If you're curious, pick up "Mudhoney", their first full-length LP. They've also
got a good EP called "Superfuzz Bigmuff", but the LP's better IMO.

Yup, they're from Seattle.... along with Tad, Soundgarden...
Seattle seems to be a happening music town now.

I have yet to purchase anything by them but what I've heard on the
    radio kicks!

I do believe they're coming to Boston soon.

Glenn, you might want to put a note in EHM::YODA. I know there are
a few Mudhoney/Seattle fans in there.

Offhand I can't remember, but none of the names struck me as anyone I'd heard
of before.

The way I would describe them, I guess, is a crunching, overdrive-the-fuzzbox
band of clowns. Their lyrics are usually hilarious, and the singer sounds
like the younger brother of the lead of D.R.I.

I gotta type in a tune as soon as I've got time.

They are also taken to occasional fits of neo-psychedelia.

Mudhoney played an impressive set on the Friday of the Reading
Festival. Although the best song they did was a cover of "Touch me I'm
    sick"...I think that's a Sonic Youth song.

I heard that the Reading show was their last ever gig. Is that
    	true?

RE:-1 Don't know about that, but I saw them at Portsmouth, with
soundgarden (and another band), I reckoned they sucked...
    Give me Prong anyday.

-1: Granted, it was quite a long time ago when I saw Mudhoney (over 2
years), so maybe they've changed for the better, but from what I thought
then, I wouldn't buy the album on hearsay. Though If I'm wrong, and they
have improved, then all the better.
