    Hi Heavy Metal Fans,

If any of you out there are interested, the band "Spread Eagle"
from New York City, formerly known as "Bang" will be playing
in Boston at "Narcissis" on February 21 (Wednesday) night.

I know that there are alot of you out there that knew the band
"Bang", well "Spread Eagle" is even better.

    Hope to see you there.

3 of the guys are the original members from "Bang" with the addition
    of 1 new member.

    They sound better than ever.

Their first album should be out very soon. Their "MTV" music video
will be telivised in May sometime. I don't have the exact date
    right now.

I was never a Bang-head myself. I mean, I remember EARLY Bang days
(like the 'Jimi and the Trouser-Snakes live here' days!), and I was
never really into them. Paul was an good player...I mean, he had
chops, but no identity IMHO. He *was* EVH! Their tunes sounded *so*
much live VH too, it was really lame! I did like the song Summertime,
    however.

Maybe I'll check out the new band

Give these guys some credit huh, they felt they were not going
to make it in Boston. One of the original "Bang" members left the
group, so the rest of them decided to go to New York, find a
replacement and within two months of them being in New York they
got signed by a record company, made an album and already did a
"MTV" special. How many Boston bands that you know of got this
far in such a short time?

"Bang" did not blow it, they got BETTER.

When they were "Bang" all their music was original, still is. One
of the songs that made them famous in Boston was "Summertime".

They have written all new songs for there album.

Do you mean the Bass Guitarist? If you do the answer is yes. His
    name is Rob DeLuca.

I don't know who they are playing with at Narcissus, sorry.

None of your statements are true, they have written their own music,
they have progressed, and they have excellent showmanship. You
have a right to your own opinion but like #.8 says "you have a very
    negative attitude".

Read the beginning of this note "Spread Eagle" have done very well
    for themselves.

parts I could swear the singer of Spread Eagle is Sebastian (sp?)

    RE .21
They are currently recording their second album which
should be out sometime around March or so. The working
title is,'GIVE EM THE BIRD',which I think is rather
fitting. The bass player , Rob DeLuca is a good friend
of mine who I grew up with in Delaware, in case you
were wondering how I know all this. They plan on
starting live peformances again around New Years
    in the Boston/New York area.

    RE 26
The last that I heard, as of last week, was that Tommy was going
to be back in the band. Apparently, They've worked out their
differences and are ready to get it going again. As far as the
recording goes, they had someone else lay down the drum tracks
(The drummer from Billy Idol, I think he said) up until now.
Whether or not they are going to re-record those tracks with
    Tommy, I'm not sure.
Personally, I'm glad to hear that it looks like it he
is going to be back in it. He's a great drummer , a great person,
and the band wouldn't be the same without him.

    RE:16

The Skid Row comparison is more ironic than you think. Sebastion
Bach has come up and sang "Broken City" with Spread Eagle at a few
gigs and has remarked that it's one of his favorite tunes. The
band was impressed by the production of the Spread Eagle album
and was interested in having Charlie (producer of Spread Eagle)
work on "Slave to the Grind". That apparantly never worked out,
but the influence does show. By the way, both bands are good
    friends with each other.
I'll let you know when they are coming to Boston, Seth. I
should find out sometime by mid-November.

    Hi Folks,

I have not been in this notesfile for quite awhile.

I don't know if any of you out there remember the band "BANG"
from Boston. They moved to New York about 1 1/2 ago. They
changed their name to "SPREAD EAGLE". Their first album came
out last year and they are now working on their second album.
Also, I saw one of the band members last week and they have
    changed alot of their music.

I just thought if any of you are interested in seeing them
they will be playing on June 9, in Manchester, N.H. at the
"DEC A Dance" club. They will be also playing in Boston on
June 10 but I don't know where yet. When I found out I will
    post it.

Hope you come to Manchester to see "SPREAD EAGLE".

New release is due out Sept.1 and it has some killer tracks on it.
"Fame","The Devils Road", and "Revolution Maker" are the standouts
in my ears. Rob played me the rough mix a few months ago and I can
only imagine how great the cd will be. The band has been playing
various club gigs through the Northeast, but should launch a
whole U.S. tour this fall. The last I heard it will called either
"GIVE 'EM THE BIRD" or "OUT OF ORDER".

                                More later,

Looks like I spoke too soon a couple replies back. The release
date has been pushed back to Dec 1. Also the title has been changed
to "OPEN TO THE PUBLIC". And also again, the song I called "fame"
is actually "fade away", sorry. Anyway the album's very hot and
hopefully will be out by christmas.

is that Tommy Gallo you talking about? I played guitar in a band (Iron
Rage) with hime several years ago. He's was cool, but very off the
    wall and flakey....

Yeah, Tommy Gallo -- I remember Iron Rage (I was working sound for
most of the major clubs in Beantown back then), but Bob, Tommy is
a drummer -- were you playing something else, or was this a
    dual-drummer/Molly Hatchet-type of band??

I play guitar, too......I was playing rythym and John Williams did all
of the lead stuff....We did some 8track studio stuff which was cool at
the time.....I was only in the band for 6 months or so, becuase I got
tired of their attitudes. Tommy is one strange charachter.

Finally got the new album and I'm impressed but ...

Not too keen on the mixing. In places the bass is far to low in the
mix and the guitar is a little muddy. There are times when the bass
needs a fuller sound (like on Shine On). The guitar playing is pretty
good but the main glitch for me is that they seem to still be trying
to find their own style and so the songs are a little shaky but overall,
    thumbs up.

Well, actually Rob Deluca (Bass) is the only member from Spread
Eagle and/or Bang that is in Goatsinger. The music is quite
different , sorta Nirvana-ish with the singer throwing in a
lot of poetry (ala Moody Blues). Poetry metal, I guess. I went
to visit Rob in May and saw Goatsinger at CBGB'S in New York.
Great show!! Hopefully, they'll find a deal soon and put something
    out.
