Has anyone gotten this album?? I heard "We Cry Out" on
the HBB this morning and thought it was semi-cool.

But then again - I like almost everything.

LDDC is a very interesting album. Songs criticising different aspects of today's
society and a very particular atmosphere. Difficult to position but surely
deserves a patient (re)listening. "The losers" is one of the best songs (there
is also a video clip).

That's good news ! If the album is as good as "Last decade.." I'll not miss it.
They are really a band which has something to add to rock music.

I got "Last Decade, Dead Century" a few months ago as a free sel-
ection from the CD club and I finally listened to it last night.
Not a bad album, really, though somewhat repetitious.

"Four More Years" is a 'political narrative' of a president's
term, but I didn't really listen to the words because I was doing
a crossword puzzle, and the rest are all similar to "The Losers"
    	and "We Cry Out".

Picked up the lastest Warrior Soul album, 'Drugs, God, and the New Republic'.
Its ok, not great. Actually, the songs are pretty decent but the production
really bites (produced by the band - AcK!), and it takes away a lot of the
potential.

I've heard the new album was less impressing than "Last decade .." so I
hesitated to buy it. The critics I've seen were noting that the
production was quite minimalistic even if WS have much talent.
I've also heard that WS's leader is an ex-Kix man. (?)
At the occasion I'll try to listen the new album.

Finally I got DGatNR and I like it. It's a bit less impressing than LDDC but
it's still a very interesting album. WS have a particular sound and personality.
The overall mood is still quite dark but it rocks a little more.
The best song has to be, for me, "Jump for joy" followed by "The wasteland".
It's also an album that requires repeated listening in order to be fully
appreciated. WS fans will not be disapointed by it.
Recommended.

Actually, they have gotten worse as time went on.. Their first album
Lost Decade Dead Century was excellent. The second fair, and the third
just plain sucks. The lead singer's growly voice ruins it all.

I wouldn't want to see them in concert, not that good..

You people are all nasty ... at least Sorin has good taste. 8^)

Ian's posted 4 replies to this topic, and 3 of them said nothing
more than "I saw them open for Metallica and they sucked". 8^)

I now have all 3 of their releases [that I'm aware of, anyways]
and they crank ... simple as that. All their albums have maybe
3-4 rippin' songs, some power ballads and some in-between stuff.
Very political band, if you pay attention to the songs.

He's no Geoff Tate on vocals, but his voice sounds excellent in
the context of the band. I've listened to "Salutations from the
Ghetto Nation" 3-4 times in the last week and like it more every
    	time.

Now that my CD collection is unpacked and alphabetized, I'll be
giving the previous albums another spin or 5.

I heard they were boo'd rather loudly due to voicing their political
crap at a concert a few years ago I think in the gahden. I am trying to
think if it was Queensryche they were opening for or if it was Ted
Nugent.....I was not impressed upon hearing this, and my friend who saw
    them said "they sucked!". ;-}

I seen these guys open for Queensryche a few years back. I know that
they have political views and all, but when a band performs in a
foreign country, would it not make sense to slam that counties
government? I mean, when a band starts chanting "Bush sucks!!! Down
with Bush!!" over and over again to the crowd, when the crowd has no
idea who Bush is!! Half the crowd, who was doing their best at moshing,
decided to sit back and watch a lunitic go on about politics that they
    don't care about.
I disagree that "they suck", but they didn't win any fans with thier
views. The music was good and all, very mean, but I personally am going
to pass on buying any of thier CDs.

The first album was really fine and quite particular. I haven't heard
much of their music after the second CD (which was less impressive). I
had some occasional listening from time to time. I had the impression
that the singer's voice was getting rougher from album to album. Not
exactly Geoff Tate just as GTI said.

Somewhere in here I had said that I listened to "Chill Pill"
and "Space-Age Playboys" last week, and thought that "Chill
Pill" was too slow, especially in comparison to the 3 earlier
    	albums.

Well, I was wrong. It's got just as many up-tempo songs as the
other albums, but for some reason it's just not as good as they
are. And on 1st listen I did like "The Space-Age Playboys", al-
though I haven't given it a 2nd listen yet. But I will do that
very soon ... slowly but surely I'm reducing the number of "not
    	listened to" CD's.
