15.0. "Rondat, Patrick" by CASEE::LALLI (Didier - BCE Valbonne - DTN 828.5423) Tue Nov 21 1989 11:51

A new guitar killer/deamon/heroe is born. His name is Patrick Rondat. He is
French (but still good :-).

His first album is called "Just for Fun", and it's guitar only. I thought that
it was the new Vinnie Moore when I heard it the first time.

This guy opened last year for the France Tour (may be Europe I don't know) of
BOC. Critics were good.

Check it out (on import I guess) if you like guitar killer type of albums, I
think its worth it.

        Cool, my acquaintance in French gave me the home compailation
        tape includeing a few about Patrick Rondat and was big
        surprised with his power of expression. It sounds like Vinnie
        Moore as Didier said on his previous note. I think he is good
        for all around the world. It's a long time since Didier wrote
        this note and nobody care about Patrick Rondat. I looked for
        Just for Fun on CD at disk shop in Tokyo but I couldn't find
        it. I'm not sure whether this album was imported or not in
        Japan and any other country.

        So I want to know about more info.

        	Which company does he contract(French or not) ?
        	Did he put out only Just for Fun ?
        	Has anyone ever heard of his name ?

        Kazunari.

I'm just affraid it's not imported. May be UK has it.

> Which company does he contract(French or not) ?

I think it's something called "Vogue" and I'm not sure but I think it's french.

> Did he put out only Just for Fun ?

Yes.

> Has anyone ever heard of his name ?

I guess no. I had myself never heard of him before his name was mentioned in
the opening of the last Blue Oyster Cult Tour. Concert critics were very good.

15.3Rape Of The EarthCASEE::LALLIDidier - OSAG Valbonne - DTN 828.5423Tue Jan 28 1992 06:2112
Second album is out for a while now. It's called "Rape Of The Earth". It's still
an instrumental album, quite long (55 mn), DDD, and quite good. There is an
interesting cover from Django Reinhardt on it called Nuages.

He still is endorsed by ESP/Europe.

I also saw the guy in concert in a little club in Cannes last month. He was
impressive, so was its bass playe called Pascal Mulot.

Cheers,

Didier
