660.0. "Pretty Maids" by GLOWS::SIMPSON (Why are you still up?) Mon Sep 11 1989 06:49

Didn't find anything on 'em by dir/tit, so...
Anybody heard of a group called Pretty Maids? They put out an
album called Futureworld in 1986, figured I'd post a note in
here about them. Think they're out of Copenhagen, at least
that's where they recorded out of and where their management
    is also.

Somethin's wrong here though, only two people are listed as
written and arranged by, R. Atkins and K. Hammer. Swear to
God, no mention of who plays what, only others listed are
Graham Bonnet and Philip Hart for backing vocals! That and
a dedication to Phil Lynott, and that's it. If this IS a 2
man band, they've got one helluva sound to them, especially
the title track and We Came To Rock, both kick a$$ tunes.

Definitely reccomended, now I've gotta write their fan club
and find out who they are!

Yes and there first album is called something like "Hard & Heavy" or
"Hot & Heavy". I got to check. I have it on tape. It is an excelent
album. I liked it better than "Future Wold". Nothing else since then.

I don't think so. Their fist LP shows a 5 men band on the picture. It
look quite normal. Got to verify that too.

Pretty Maids is one of my favorite bands. Yes, they released
two albums called Red Hot and Heavy and Future World. I like
both of them. I think Red Hot is powerful, while Future is
        refined.

They've not released an album for a long time. I CNA'T wait
        for :-).

Does anyone know thier newest activity ?
Are they on a recording now ?

        Cheers,

        Kazunari.

I've just heard on the radio that their new LP is ready and will be out this
week. They are going on tour, and they gonna come to my place, that's a miracle.

Sorry but no title yet.

The new LP is out and it's called "Jump the Guns". It's supposed to be more pop
than previous works. The tunes I've heard are good.

It's produced by Roger Glover (Deep Purple) and also has Ian Paice on drums for
some of the tracks.
