151.0. "Fastway" by VIDEO::COOK (Nudge, nudge, wink, wink..say no more..) Tue Jul 19 1988 11:09

    Hi.

After seeing the movie Trick Or Treat, I really wanted to listen
to Fastway again. i used to listen to them back in school, but don't
have any albums anymore. I haven't been able to find any lately
either. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find some??

    Angela.

Fast Eddie played guitar for Fastway. I think the lead singer's
    name was Jeff King.

Oh boy, this is my note! I've been singing the praise of Fastway for
years now, as some of you know.

'Fast' Eddie Clark - guitar
Dave King - vocals
Jerry Shirley - drums
Pete Way - bass on the 1st album - I forget the new bassist's name

'Fast' Eddie Clark was the guitarist for Motorhead.
Pete Way was the bassist for UFO.
Jerry Shirley was the drummer for Humble Pie (way back in the early 70s).
Dave King was a young unknown they found through auditions.

Their first is very good, and their second is awesome (one of my favorite
albums of all-time!). But then the bassist and drummer left, and they
added a keyboardist, and they haven't been as good since. Some of the
material in the movie is new, and some of it is older stuff. IMO, they
are the best of the Zep-influenced hard-rock bands.

If you need more info, just ask!

i think that it should be the other way around, their
first album was great and their second was only so so....
i am a big FASTWAY fan and am surprized at the lack
    of responces on this note!!!!
question:: was their second album...allfired up? if
yes than i still hold my ground when i say it was only so so....
i also believe that FASTWAY is one of the better ZEP.
influenced bands.... they don't go overboard with it and thats a
    plus!
i also think that TRICK OR TREAT really kicks ass and
was glad to hear that one after being dissapointed by ALL FIRED
UP......but, i like SAY WHAT YOU WILL all the better

It's funny that these guys were never really well
known. I wear a Fastway shirt now and then, and
I either hear, "Who?" or "Oh! I forgot about
                those guys!"

I liked Fastway pretty well, but I think Pete Ways best stuff was
when he was with UFO. No Place to Run was a good album.

Fastway have signed an exclusive long term record deal with Legacy
records in the UK. They have started work on the follow up to "on
Target", set for worldwide release in February.

"Bad Bad Girls" sounds alot like Ratt.

I mean, I like Ratt ... but that doesn't mean I want to hear
10 bands that sound like them.

i have never heard their first album... my first album of theirs
was 'waiting for the roar' which i think is an awesome set of
songs. then i stumbled onto the t-or-t soundtrack and that was
cool too... but not as good as 'waiting...' imho.... guess i
should also tune into the first one, eh? i'll look for it...

Fastway was not that bad of a band.

Fast Eddie Clark is/was a great guitar player. Motorhead wasn't the
same after he left. Still good, just not the same.

Although I haven't heard anything from Fastway ever since Trick or
     Treat soundtrack.
