| I skiied Tenney Mt (West of Plymouth N.H., about 5 miles off I93.
Had a great time. The conditions were somewhere between very good and
excellent! $15 for a mid week ticket! The size is similar to Gunscock,
although I liked the trail layout better. A number of real "trails",
(as opposed to slopes) and lots of dips and knolls. A real blue
crusisers delight. If you are looking for somethig off the beaten
path, I would definitely recommend it. No lines whatsoever on
Friday - I don't know how it would be on a weekend. There are 2 chairs
for other than the beginner stuff. The double (on the left) runs to
the sujmmit and takes 13 mins (but no waiting in lift line).
The triple on the right takes about 8 mins and goes right takes 8
minutes and goes about 60% as high as the double. We found lots of
corduroy off the truple until aftter lunchtime.
All told, it was an excellent day for a bargain price. Should appeal
to blue cruisers. Only 1-2 ungroomed trails that were quite difficult
for me.
The weekend price is $29.
This is the first year Tenney has been open in about 5 years.
I hope they are successful, this time.

| Tenny has 7 black diamond runs. They are mostly short sections of steep
and ungroomed terrain in otherwise groomed and quite tame blue trails.
But two of them constitute a top-to-bottom black trail, Forget-Me-Not
followed by Snapdragon. You can also enter it in the middle, at the top
of Snapdragon. Forget-Me-Not is very narrow, say 5 to 15 feet, and has
a few very steep sections - and some very flat sections to make up for
them. It is usually closed. Snapdragon is more of a blue trail and is
appropriately wider, but is ungroomed on one side.
The trail under the main lift is largely ungroomed and has some narrow
and/or steep sections.
Shooting Star, a wider groomed blue trail has a steep and ungroomed
section about 200' long about halfway down. There are also some very
fast groomed sections on this trail making it a real fun way down.
If you turn right off the lift and stay go all the way to the left on
the way down there are 2 fun little trails with the same steep ungroomed
section in them as Shooting Star.
There is also a very narrow and steep but very short chute in a trail
off the triple chair.
A couple of the all-blue trails are relatively narrow and wind their
way through the woods well away from the other trails. A really pretty
place to be, and fast enough that you need to watch where you're going.
I liked Tenney a lot. The staff tries to make it a pleasant place
to be, and it really pays off. The skiers are noticably more happy,
friendly, and outgoing to one another compared to other areas. I'm
convinced that it's due to the attitude of the staff, kind of setting
the pace. Adolescent boys even initiated and maintained conversations
with people in their 40s and 50s!
All that plus a great view of Mt. Washington from the top. Give it a
try, and help keep them in business.

Yeah, I noticed that at....

I even liked Ragged before because of it's remoteness, now it
looks much better! Gotta check it out!
