got one for you wiring guys..

I've got a fishman natural in my Yari,,

every now and then, it hums, like a bad ground.
sometimes really bad, sometimes, not bad at all,
other times, it don't hum at all..

If I take a grouding strap and attach it to the
strap-pin/jack, and touch the other end of the
ground strap, buzz stops...

I've used different cables, different equalizers,
tried other p/a systems and amps..  just seems to
come and go...

any ideas ??

    it wud seem to me if it's a bad ground it would do it consistently
    so....a couple of questions.
    
    I'm not familiar with this unit..is it a pezeo?  How is it hooked up?
    What's the cable like (as in is it shielded?)  Where are you when this
    problem occurs..always same place? Any flourescent lites nearby?
    Machinery running (washers, dryers, large electro-magnets ;-) )

it's a piezo that goes under the bridger sadle.

there's a stran of wire that runs from the jack, to the pickup, 
and in the loop there's a battery..

There's some sort of transducer box attached
to the input jack housing..

I can be anywhere, no lights on at all, and depending
on where I move, the hum will lessen or go away.

Feels like a bad solder joint, or flaky wire???...

    about to get a Fishman Matrix installed in my HD-28,

yes, I think so..

I replaced the input jack/preamp housing, and
it went away..  they did'nt charge me..
