To all my Tone Bros,

Well, my 7 years with Digital just came to an end. It's been a rewarding
and educational stint for me and even though the company is in trouble,
I've got to say it' the best one I've ever worked for. I made alot of
friends and I'll miss you all. I just finished my Masters degree program
and I have some solid leads on a new career, so life goes on for me. Please
keep in touch if you can. I'm not going to broadcast my phone number but
I'm in directory service for 703 area code in King George, VA. If you would
like me to have your phone number or Internet address please send it to me
at Wolver::sdandrea or navy5::sdandrea. I'll be in the office today and
tommorrow, and then I'M OUTA HERE!!!!!!!!!

Darn - Sad to hear you're leaving Steve, but glad to hear you
completed your degree and have some lines on a new job. Best of luck to
you, keep pickin' the Les Paul (remember, I have good taste too!)
We'll miss your notes and (sick) sense of humor. Glad we at least had
one chance to meet and jam at Buck's last January.

WHAT???????? I'm bummin' here! Well Steve, I guess it's up to me to
carry the torch for keeping Clapton bashers in line around here. ;^)'s
I'm sorry I missed you on your last trip up north, but I'm honored
to have met you and jammed with ya!

Notes won't be the same without ya Stevo and you will be missed!
When you get to your next day gig and you get your new EMAIL address,
please let us know so we can continue to harass ya! ;^)'s

Your notes always had a smiley somewhere in them and that,
as well as your high enthusiasm for our instrument will
    	be very much missed.

2939.7D'Andrea is God ABACUS::PAGETue Jun 07 1994 13:3444
I don't know if any of you watch "Star Trek: The Next Generation".
If you happened to catch the last, final episode of the series, there
was a great scene at the very end where the Captain interrupts the
rest of the crew in the midst of one of their card games.

Having never "dropped in" on them before, he awkwardly sits down
to join them for a game of cards. Just as he's about to deal the cards,
he pauses to look around the table and says to them, "I should have
done this along time ago." They tell him he's always welcome.

This reminded me of last fall, when I finally got up the gumption
to come to Stormy Mondays. I don't know exactly why, but I was always
very hesitant about showing up at any DECjams. Insecure of my playing,
uncomfortable around people I don't know, not sure if you'd all turn
out to be wankers... :-) Anyway, I always avoided them, but for some
reason, I conjured up the gonads to show up last fall and introduce
myself to you fellow noters, for better or worse.

Well, guess what? I had a great time! Everyone was friendly, funny,
supportive, and it was a whole lotta fun. Like Captain Picard, I looked
at everyone and thought "I should have done this a long time ago."

A big part of the good vibes that night was the Dawg himself. Steve
really helped to make me feel comfortable, and I thank him sincerely
    for doing that.

I'm genuinely sad to see you go, Steve. We're not old pals from
years gone by or anything; we only met one time, but that one time
reminded me of all the reasons why I play guitar and what makes playing
with other musicians such a wonderful, unique experience. Those of us
who participate in this conference share a special connection, and I
wish I hadn't waited so long to mett face-to-face and play. Slowly
but surely, this group is getting smaller and smaller, and I wish we
could get together more often while we're all still here.

Anyway, good luck, Steve, please keep in touch. If you make it up
north, let's get together and jam. I'll never forget that one, long
    note...

Well, Stevo, you told me this might happen, but I hoped it wouldn't be

in for a big shakeup, so maybe it doesn't matter.

What is there to say? You've got my phone number, and I've got yours.
Stay in touch, send me a Christmas card, if I ever get down there, etc.
I'm not worried about you, you'll do all right. It's DEC we should

    Dawg,

Indeed you will be both sincerely and sorely missed. I've always
appreciated and admired the way you've acted as a sort of social
catalyst in this file. Setting up jams, keeping the humor in hot
discussion topics, bridging a lot of gaps, etc.

I wish you the very best of luck. Please make sure I know about any
New England visits. I also have enjoyed those jams and rather than
end with a "goodbye" which I sincerely hope is unnecessary, I will
end by saying that I look forward to more Dawg jams.

I'll send you my number and address...

I just want to say that in case anyone is worried about Steve not
landing on his feet, I talked to him his last week and he said he
has one firm job offer and another possible one. So he gets time

leaving his friends here, he was a happy Dawg.

Well, seeing as how we have a dozen or so "Goodbye!", "Farewell!", etc
topics, and I didn't want to create a new one, I thought I'd put this
in here. Mods, if you want to move it, or create a "life after DEC" type
   note, please feel free.

No, *I'm* not leaving (at least not that I know of at this time... :-))

Whilst browsing around on rec.music.makers.bass (Internet) I found a note
from Brian Rost! His posting address shows up as
"rost@nutshell.NoSubdomain.NoDomain", but he lists the following in his
   signature:

So if anyone wants to send him mail give it a try.

   Helpfully yours,
