| Magnatone was around up until the late sixties. They were a decent
amp, known mostly for their tremelo and vibrato circuits (not on the
bass amps!) which were far more sophisticated than what Fender was
using. Lonnie Mack was (and still is?) the best known Magnatone user.
I've seen small (like 10-20 watt) Magnatones around once in a while,
usually pretty cheap (like under $100). I'm not sure if they have
become "collectibles" yet. Players into blues or rockabilly would be
the most interested. My guess is it's worth $75-100.

| I've used Magnetones in the (distant) past also. I think some of them
had weird (non 6L6/6V6/7027/EL34/6550/KT88) output tubes. I assume by
"glow" you mean the filaments light up, because if you're talking about
the plates, you've got serious problems (bias, bad tube[s], output
transformer, or all of above...). If you don't know the difference
between a filament & a plate, but the thing sounds OK & doesn't melt
down in 15 minutes or less, then you have an amplifier. See .1 for
value & usage. If it sounds like garbage, then there's still hope.
After all, it's got TUBES !
