2585.0. "Guitar FTPM subscription problems" by CSC32::J_KUHN (RdbIsHipToTheStandardsThing) Thu Sep 03 1992 15:01

This isn't really a "Guitar" note, but it kinda is.
Anyway, I'm having a problem with subscription department at Guitar
Player for the Practicing Musician. I subscribed in December, but
noticed I wasn't getting all my issues. Ok, so I call them up to
cancel and they say no problem check is in the mail. Ok...months
later (i figure they are in no hurry to give back money) no check.
So I call again, get an apology, then a nice card comes in the mail
saying my check is on the way. great. Two months later, no check.
So...I call again, now they have no record of me. I'll bet that
they "send" the check then delete your name from their records.
Then they told me to send in the cancelled check to their customer
service dept in bolder (and its a PO box, so i can register the
letter). I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem with
them. My next step is to maybe write/fax the editors. Any other
    Ideas welcome.

2585.1you're bein' ripped off, but prob. not by the mag.SDOGUS::STEWARTLogic is the beginning of wisdomThu Sep 03 1992 16:048

Sounds like there's a player in your neighborhood that "assumed" your
subscription. Probably right out of your mailbox. GFTPM has been real
reliable for me...so I'd check out your postal situation. Like, for
example, does your postal delivery person have finger tip
    callouses...but only on one hand?

I thought so too. But Guitar World, Guitar Player and other screwy
    magazines get there fine.
If anyone has the FAX number of the editor of the mag (it should be
inside the front cover), I'd appreciate it.

    thanks

They are going to take care of it...I haven't got the check YET,
But its looking better. Real friendly people. Actually seened
    interested in what happened.
