Sam Ash has them in their catalog (I received a card last week that a
new one is on the way). The last catalog I received was about 1 year
    ago. Here are some prices:

    TC 2290 - $2195.95
It boasts a 25kHz bandwidth and 100db dynamic range. Sampling up
to 64 seconds, chorus, flange. Pretty much the standard that
         others are judged by.

    TC 1210 - $1049.95
This is the Spatial Expander/Stereo Chorus/Stereo Flanger used by
Eric Johnson and Phil Keaggy (I'm sure there's many more). True
stereo analog delay with .03% distortion, 20kHz bandwidth, 100db
dynamic range. May also be used as 2 independent chorus/flangers.

    TC 1128 - $2100.95
         Spectrum Analyzer & Graphic EQ

    TC 1144 - $499.95
         Bass preamp

    TC 2240 - $895.95
         Hi speed Stereo Parametric EQ

Then there's the chorus/flange footpedal that goes for around $250.
You can buy Mr. Busenbark's(sp?) for less than that ;-) I hear Larry
    Carlton uses this, fwiw.

Re mike.... Mr Busenbark? I'm not that old!!!!!!

I have a TCE catalog's which show's there pedal line which they
stop making a few years ago. It contains spec's etc. When I bought my
Chorus/Flange/PM it came without a manual. I called TC and they were
interested where I bought the pedal as they had people who wanted them
and were unable to get them. The first question they had was "are you
interested in selling it" they sent me a copy of the manual free and I also
asked for lit on there lines. The 2290 was something I got lit on as I've
heard several of them. $$$$$
I did several side by side compares of chorus with the boss stuff,a
quadraverb, midiverb,DSP 128X's and I really heard exactly what I wanted
in the TC. The flange is pretty impressive, and the PM helps fatten the
sound up.
One of the important features was the 20 to 20khz FR and s/n ratio
spec's. Theres a warmth I hear...
The only reason I have it for sale is that my needs have changed
towards needing a better multieffect processor for recording and other
toy's. :^) However if you get into a 2290,you'd have to change your
    Midi rack puke signature..... :^)

Re: tap delay on 2290

The Playmate function on the Roland SDE3000 does this also, but only up to 8
seconds.

Re: 2290 and 1210 in the same rack

Unless they aren't multieffect units, this seems like overkill and too much
duplication.

The Roland SDE3000 may do the same but lack's the 20 to 20k fr where
all the overtones/partials fall.... big tone/sound change I'd expect
the SDE to go to 12k at best and will probably get pretty mushy.....

A biggie with the TC2290 is the Dynamic Delay function where the
delay kicks in only after you stop playing. Makes it nice for
un-muddying solos. The only other device I know of that does this is
the Rocktron Intellifex which calls it a Delay Ducker.
I also lusted for a TC2290, but I think that the Intellifex offers
much of the same quality (features, bandwith, durability) for a much
more reasonable price. I'm really surprised that dbii and I are the
only ones with these units. But - if I had a chance to pick up a
2290 at a great price (like $1000), I might consider it.
$2000? That's a Marshall stack with money left over for stomp boxes!!!
Oh Yeah - When I saw Robben Ford play, he used a TC2290. Of course
he also had two Dumble Overdrive Specials so I don't think money is
    a consideration.

2397.14I LOVE that effect but I've done it differentlyDREGS::BLICKSTEINSoaring on the wings of dawnWed Dec 11 1991 17:347
I've achieved the same thing in the studio by using a compressor
to duck the reverb - you can hear it on "I'm Gonna Love You Forever"
on one of the Guitar notes tape during the solo.

NOwadays I'm more inclined to do it the way Morse does it - he uses
a pedal to bring the effect in and out. It gives you more control
(more of a pain too but...) and it's trivial on the Roland GP-16.

The TC is the absolute best sounding chorus ever made period. It is
mono->in, stereo->out, which is the only possible drawback. I
personally don't need stereo->in, though I can imagine uses for it (of
course, then you'd have 2 flangers!). If you're going to buy a chorus,
get the TC. It does chorus, flange, and pitch-shift, and has an
excellent preamplifier that is "on" all the time. It has depth, speed,
and mix controls which allow any sort of contour you can imagine. The
thing I like about it is that it DOES NOT color the sound of the
guitar! Everything is perfectly clear - no loss of fidelity. I use it
"inline". I have not tried it in any effects loop simply because it
works great where it is. I'd be surprised if the effects loop didn't
work just as well or better. (Also because the AMP I'm using for clean
sounds doesn't have an effects loop). The only drawback to using it
as a stomp is that the selection of chorus/flange/pitch_shift is made
with a tiny little toggle switch. So, once that's set it sort of
difficult to change it. Hasn't been a problem for me.

If you've got a 2290, you don't need the TC chorus. Otherwise, you do.

2397.17Chorus - What's Best?LARVAE::BRIGGS_RMon Feb 27 1995 08:3516

I'm finding that my BOSS ME-6 is becoming more and more redundant as my
new amplifiers's overdrive beats the ME-6 and my MicroVerb III leaves
the ME6 standing (as it should considering they are about the same
price). At the end of the day the only effect I use consistently on the
ME-6 is the Chorus. Even this sounds poor against other chorus pedals
I've heard. You may gather from this I'm not that impressed with the
    ME-6. You'd be right.

So, what I'd like to know is what is acknowledged as being the best
chorus pedal on the market today? I'm looking for a sweet, acousticy,
12 stringy sort of sound from my Strat. Must not have the awful digital
harshness that cheaper digital effects have.

TC ELectronics Chorus+Flanger. This is an analog chorus with legendary
sound quality. Larry Carlton's favorite Chorus pedal. They sell for
    ~$200.

It's kind of like buying Canadian beer in Canada vs USA. A case of
Molson's in USA cost under $20. In Canada (where it is brewed) it
sells for ~$60.00 Canadian money. The 20% currency exchange rate
does not account for the 3x differance in price. It's mostly taxes
that the Canadians charge to pay for their National Health program
    and other government programs.

    Ludicrous, but that's politics!

Molson (as well as other Canadian beers) are also significantly higher in
alcohol content in their home country than what is exported to the US.
Somewhere in the vicinity of 12-15% alc. up there, whereas the stuff we see
is about 8%. I only know this out of professional interest, understand, as
   I'm a homebrewer. :-)
