    I know some folks have .GIF's of guitar stuff. If someone will point
    me at the .GIF's, I'll convert 'em to PostScript, 'cuz I'm a helluva

I'm still looking for the GIF I *used* to have of Metallicas Master Of Puppets

Now I've got graphics, and I be bummin'.

Someone find it for ME !!

    And of course, one wouldn't want to miss BUTCH1.GIF in that directory
    either.

    One look at this and you'll know why Butch says he feels naked unless
    he's got a Gibson strapped on.
2348.10Guitar Noters Photo AlbumMRCSSE::LEITZbutch leitzFri Nov 08 1991 13:2818
Hey, BRAINSTORM! Mail me a copy of your favorite 3x5 snapshot of yourself
jammin with your favorite axe & i'll scan it in (high quality 256 greyscale)
& we'll make an online guitar noters photo album... be az crazy az u wnna be,
but nothin rude. (i do have some scruples, after all!)

anybody with UTOX, XLOAD or whatever can view them on their workstation,
maybe somebody else'll volunteer to convert them to .PS & everybody can
get a good laugh!

mail it to:
	Guitar Noter Photo
	po box 352

(OOOooo, caught...right...this is now changed)(buck had it right)

here's a start (from my archives):

Directory MRCSSE::PROJ:[LEITZ]
          --------------------

name          siz  who/what
------------- ---  ---------------------------------------------------
DJAM1.GIF;1 74 ;DECJAM 90, rost, leitz, tbuckley, bbuckley, dark photo
 		   ;so faces are not too clear, needs about 200% zoom to
                   ;really enjoy it;
DJAM2.GIF;1 79 ;rene, rost, bbuckley, leitz, zoom it 250%. Brian's getting
                   ;down in this one...
DJAM2E.GIF;1 200 ;same as above - zoomed to vga so it lost aspect ratio (every
		   ;body looks skinny) but bigger than djam2.gif.
DJAM3.GIF;1 42 ;rene, rost, leitz, tbuckley, bbuckley, (small)
DJAM3E.GIF;1 104 ;enlarged djam3.gif times 2. much better, could be zoomed.
DJAM4.GIF;1 90 ;Frank Rene and Brian Rost gettin' down
DJAM5BUC.GIF;1 167 ;from decjam 90, five bill buckleys (just for fun!)

2348.18MRCSSE::LEITZbutch leitzMon Nov 18 1991 19:4956
Actually DJAM2.GIF zoomed 200% looks the best. Forget djam2e. Yech.
For what it's worth, I also have a copy XLOADIMAGE.EXE in the same directory
(mrcsse::proj:[leitz]). Xloadimage is a pretty good GIF viewer if you have
a workstation. Use like so:

$ set display/create/node={yer node name}
$ xload=="$mydir:xloadimage.exe"
$ xload filename.gif

(If you have a friends node security enabled, you can blast a picture to
it instead, but I digress...)

Xloadimage has abunch of options to it... type $XLOAD to see all this:

$ xload
Usage: $1$dua8:[aquarius_meg$root.][leitz]xloadimage.exe;3 [global options]

    My root window now has Buck (is that a Les Paul!) in front of a
    Marshall stack. If I can figure a way to layer "Just Say No to Racks"
    across it, it will be perfect.

    Hi Kev,

    Yuppers...dats me playing Stevie (Tone = JCM 900!) Jensen's old Gibson
    Les Paul Custom thru (not one but) TWO 50wt Marshall heads (each with
    their own cab)!! I was running them in stereo.

    Buck who says 1 LP Custom thru 2 50WT Marshalls had tone for days!!

    Who's the singer? Thanks for scanning these, they're great!

    BTW - I really prefer XV to XLOADIMAGE. XV is XGIF's successor. Let
    me know if you want a pointer to the saveset. XLOADIMAGE doesn't
    support 24 planes so I can't use it. XV does support 24 planes as well
    as 8.

    >That's great, a musical family! Is she as great on guitar as you?

    I tried to teach her some stuff, but to date all she can play on guitar
    is two songs by The Rings (a shared favorite band!) and parts to some
    Aerosmith stuff. She does weild a killer flute, though (memories of
    Jethro Tull covers come to mind).

    Just out of curiousity...

    How did you create the SRV GIFs? What B&W scanner do you use (or
    camera if you used one) and what software do you use to do the
    conversions?

    Thanks,
    Mike
