2159.0. "Where to find Rickenbacker?" by SAHQ::ROSENKRANZ (I shot six holes in my freezer) Wed Apr 03 1991 15:34

I've been trying to find a Rickenbacker dealer in Atlanta. I've called
a number of places with no luck, and nobody seems to know who carries
them. Can anyone tell me how to contact Rickenbacker direct so I can
get a catalog/price list and find a dealer I can deal with??

    Help!

That's area code 714 if you call information. I'm heading over to the
store/museum next week to pick up some strings for a friend and to try
and decide which model I'm going to buy first. If you're in So CA on
business you should try and fit in a visit while you're here.

Thanks for the quick response! Their phone is (714) 545-5574. And
they do have a museum. The good news is that they do have a couple
dealers down here. Gotta start working on a deal.

2159.6While we're talking about Rickenbacker...ELWOOD::HERTZBERGHistory: Love It or Leave It!Wed Apr 03 1991 22:124
Has anybody seen Rickenbacker strings for sale in the Boston general
    vicinity? 12-string sets, for example?

Has anyone found a good source for the Roger McGuinn Limited Edition
12-string Rick in the Boston area?

Are there any other sources for Ricks at good prices?

2159.8I'd like to find one too!SAHQ::ROSENKRANZI shot six holes in my freezerFri Jun 14 1991 13:3718
They stopped making the McGuinn limited edition over a year ago so
you probably have to look at the used market. I've been looking for
one myself and have not had much luck. I've talked to a couple of
dealer which have sold some. Going price for one in good condition
    seems to be around $900-$1000.

There is a dealer in Athens Ga. which had a used one in Jet Glow
(I'm looking for maple-glow or fire-glow) and was asking $1000. This
was about a month ago. He also has a long waiting list of people
who are looking for one. You could try them (Athens music
    404-549-0677).

Also I just bought a brand new Rickenbacker 360/12v64 vintage reissue
for $1000 including case. I bought it through indirectly through a
dealer in Texas. I can get you a contact if your interested. He led
me to believe he can locate most any rickie.

    6 or 12?

six, this time -- if it was for me I'd probably go for the 12, just
'cause I'm real happy with the Strat & Starcaster...

Oh, well. I'm not sure about the 6. Tom doesn't deal Rick any more,
but maybe he'll know anyway. A good price for a 12 is about $900, by
    the way.

I recently checked out a 360 6-string model in Fireglow with hsc.
The guitar and case were both mint and were selling for $500.
This one is circa late '80s. I think $500 is an average price for
a private sale, slightly higher from a dealer.

A 12 stringer is a lot more money. $900 is about right.

2159.14 nothing like real data EZ2GET::STEWARTdonorcycle dot-riderThu Mar 16 1995 21:456

Thanks, guys... a local dealer's got one on the wall for $800 w/case.
She's not knowledgable enough to go out shopping on the used market,
and I don't want to be her perpetual guitar tech, so I may point her in
    that direction...

I have a spring clearance flyer from Guitar Oasis which has
"Rickenbacker 360-6 string WB, double bound body, jetglo, HSC, List
    $1429, SALE $749."

BTW - Guitar Oasis is primarily a new/used guitar/amp dealer. They
specialize in Marshall and Vox amps and parts. Carry a variety of
used effects pedals and rack gear, too. I've dealt with them
    frequently and find them reputable.

They publish a nice flyer several times a year.
