2124.0. "Sound effect on 'Have a cigar'" by TENERE::LADRET (Gisement epuise (.neq.) mine de rien) Tue Feb 26 1991 15:13

Could someone help me in finding what special effects are used on the Pink Floyd
song from the 'Wish you were here' LP : 'Have a cigar'.

How could I get the guitar/bass sound from the intro ?
Is a synthetizer really need or can I get it with the usual chorus/reverb/
flanger/sustain/distortion/equalizer/wah-wah/compressor/... pedals.

I usually manage to get a gilmourish sound with compressor/reverb/chorus pedals,
but the sound of the very beggining of 'Have a cigar' is quite unique.

Could anyone help ?

Thanks in advance.

    It's a really wide/slow flanger...

Errr...I always had better luck with an old DOD phaser, but I suppose
the flange would do in a pinch.
