2070.0. "Help. I want to be in some sort of band. " by TRAVLR::MGAUTHIER () Mon Jan 07 1991 20:04

HI.

First, I live in Hudson, MA. If you don't know where that is, there is no
point in reading on.

I've been playing guitar for quite a while now, and I've decided I want to
play with some other people, with the idea of first having a good time
getting to be a better musician, and second, making some extra money on the
side. That's the correct order of importance for me, but I want to do both
of those things.

I have a good Washburn 6-string acoustic, a telecaster, a stratocaster, and
a twin reverb amplifier. I also have a peavey bass amp head, for what
that's worth. I did play bass with some guys for a while, but I really
can't be0 a bass player, and that band was going nowhere.

If I had my way, I'd find some people who like both acoustic and
rock-and-roll. I'm 38, so I think a lot of oldies were great, but there is
lots of new stuff I like a lot. I do like blues, although the only name in
that genre that I'm pretty familiar with is Stevie Ray Vaughan. I go to
the Worcester home of the blues, Gilrein's, pretty often, but I never know
who created the music played there.

I also like Bruce Springsteen, Clapton, Beatles, Stones, Doors, much of the
music from the Eddie and the Cruisers movies, New Age, Folk, Fine Young
Cannibals, Eric Johnson, Zepplin, newer Aerosmith Carlos Santana... Well,
what's the point? Can't say I care much for Country and Western, or Rap
music, although there are exceptions.

If you have any interest in getting together, call me or send mail. I
really want to do this, so if you're only mildly interested, or really
don't have enough time, please don't contact me. I don't have any ideas of
changing my line of work with this, but I do have time and interest, so I
want to get something going here.

If you know anyone who's interested, or have any good ideas on how to find
people like that, that would help.

I'm at 225-7115

Thanks for reading this.
