1348.0. "Mountain Guitars?" by NRPUR::DEATON () Mon Jun 19 1989 20:17

	Has anyone heard of "Mountain Guitars"? I was in 'The Minor Chord' in
Acton at noon trying out a Washburn acoustic when the salesman brought over
a Mountain guitar. It's a Martin copy with some unusual pearl inlays on the
fret board. The tone was nice - quite comparable to the Washburn D25 I had just
played.

	The salesman said they are manufactured by a small company of musicians
in California and that they are really popular on the West coast.

	Anyone know anything about them?

    Well.... I saw a Mountain Guitar last night and immediately thought,
    "Hmm... I've heard of those recently...". I asked the salesman
    whether the guitar was made in CA or not. His reply was "No, Korea".
    Soo... if this is the same guitar you're speaking of, decent enough
    looking acoustic with the word 'MOUNTAIN' on the top of the headstock,
    they're not made in the US o' A.

    Ben.

	Well, the one I saw didn't have "Mountain" spelled out on the headstock.
It was a fancy pearl-inlay "M". It said "Mountain inside the hole, but it had
no other reference (like where the company was located, Model number, etc.).

    Sounds like the guitar you saw was ALOT nicer than the one I did.
