1254.0. "Old Silvertone parts needed" by BFLAT::SYSTEM () Thu Apr 13 1989 18:34

    	-------------Silvertone parts needed for restoration------------
I would be interested in buying a couple of used parts for my
recently acquired Silvertone/Danelectro guitar. It is a single
pickup one cutaway model 3108. I need the original knobs and
would also be interested in the original tuning pegs. I have
a set of dual concentric knobs that someone gave me but they
are only for the two pickup model and I do not have the right
potentiometers for it. IF YOU HAVE OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAS AN
OLD DANELECTRO OR SILVERTONE GUITAR - PLEASE POINT THEM MY WAY.

While it will not look "original", you will be better off in the
long run with new tuners. The original tuners are quite poor at
    holding the instrument in tune.

You might also check for old Silvertone amps. My guitar and amp use
the same knobs. The amp's were in better shape, so I swapped them.

    Have fun!!!

If you need a vintage style tuner, Stewart McD's has some in the
latest catalog that look to be every bit as cheezy as the originals

you dont need the stock pots--who'll ever know!!Any 100k audio taper
pot should do the trick and won't detract from the value(?)of the
    instrument.
