| E-A-D-G-C I think. Yes?
I have encountered bass tunings of D-A-D-G and one in 5ths, like
a cello, of C-G-D-A
6 string bass is tuned like a guitar but an octave lower

In the 1960s, it was common to have the extra string be either a
B or C above the G.
Now it is more common to have the extra string be the B below the
E.
A lot of this has to do with the fact that modern bass amps can
reproduce such low frequencies OK.

JUST TO EXTEND YOUR SCALES
I'VE YET TO PLAY A 5 OR 6 STRING BASS BUT I WOULD THINK THAT'S WHAT I
WOULD TUNE TO AND THEN POSSIBLY AFTER WORKING WITH IT THEN START
CHANGING THE TUNNING AND KIND OF PLAY AROUND WITH IT.
I HAVE JUST RECENTLY STARTED SEEING THESE AROUND BUT SOMEONE HAS TOLD
ME THAT THEY USE BE QUITE POPULAR A FEW YEARS BACK.
I DO AGREE WITH TUNNING A 6 STRING AN OCTAVE LOWER.
I WOULD LIKE SOMEMORE INFO IF SOMEONE HAS MORE TO OFFER.
IF YOU ARE ACTIVE WHEN PLAYING THE BASS THAN ITS KIND OF A GOOD
ALTERNATIVE TO A 4 STRING.
