236.0. "Removing Scratches?" by NEDVAX::DPOWELL (Uh, how do you tune this thing?) Fri May 08 1987 12:52

Over the years my Les Paul has developed a number of scratch marks in
the lacquer from some over exuberant picking. Does anyone have an EASY
home remedy for removing these scratches?

236.1If it's not too deep, rub it outRHETT::MCABEEDiddly diddlyWed May 13 1987 20:266
    There are rubbing compounds for that purpose, but if you rub part
    of it, you'll probably want to rub it all to make it uniform.
    Gurian makes some cleaning and polishing compounds for guitars.

    Try calling Martin's Woodworker's Dream ... their people there (Dick
    Boak and I forget the other fellow's name) are excellent contacts
    for such advice. Don't have the number handy but dircetory assistance
    will getcha there ... Nazareth, PA is all I know right now.
