Well ....fellow guitarists I've been a regular reader of this
file since it was created...even though I don't respond much I
enjoy your discussions and information...now comes the time when
    I'd appreciate YOUR ATTENTION...Last Thursday 3-19-87,when I came
home from work I realized someone else had just left..taking many
items with them..including VCR,stereo,TV,power tools and my satellite
system(minus the dish)...WORST OF ALL MY GUITARS!!!!
        A 1966 CHERRY RED GIBSON ES335...SERIAL #511433..W/ A BIXBY
TREMOLO set-up..also has one Dimarzio pickup and one Humbucker..
(this instrument is like part of the family)
Also a new (1986) red IBANEZ ROADSTAR W/ FLOYD ROSE TREMOLO
    SET UP...serial #860809...model #RG440PR..
I live in the central Maine area ..and realize it's hard to tell
where any of these items could turn up...that's why I'm reaching
out...any information would be greatly appreciated...THANKS
    Rick Jennings

I'm alawys appaled when I hear of this. We should bring back hanging.
String em up, and let em swing.

I don't suppose you had any insurance to collect upon do ya ?

Your guitars have probably been repainted, and are most likely holding
a 50 dollar price tag for any scumbag that can come with the dough
first. The A**Hole the lifted your stuff, is probably trying to
get his daily allowance of Crack. This stuff makes me sick. Hope
to God that you find the rat and cut him a new colin.

Amen! I wasn't going to say anything, but my feeling is the same.
I was going to elucidate on all the things that might happen, but
that's the last thing you want to hear in your time of greiving.
I hope you get your stuff back and the pond scum who stole it gets
    what is coming to them.

I appreciate all your replys and info concerning Guitar Player..(I
wasn't aware of this)..my case is still being investigated by the
State Police as well as a private investigator...there are some
vague leads..nothing to get real excited about yet...
My insurance hasn't come thru yet,but if I owed them..............
I'm wondering what they'll give me for 335..??
I guess there is a lesson for all you fellow pickers to make sure
you have all your serial #'s,pictures, and if it's a real special
instrument you might upgrade your policy accordingly.

    Rick,
I too sympathize (with no ability to help you in your plight).
I had my apartment broken into back in Baltimore and lost my Guild
    FG512 and '69 Strat.

I have a question along another vein...
Are you the same Rick Jennings who went to Johns Hopkins in the
early-mid 70's, then vanished into the southern Maine wilderness?
If so, "How the hell are ya?" from a fellow TEP brother...

I really can't help much either, but I can relate an experience....

A few months ago, my car got broken into (I had just come back from
a jam) and ALL 4 FXXXing guitars were gone, along with a hefty amount
of sheet music. Well, I was a little upset. Anyway, within a few
days, I had spent a few corporate dollars (Westinghouse) and called
up just about every store in MA and told them about my problem.
I, of course, had no pictures, Serial Numbers, or anything else
to go on. But they were all very helpful, and I needed all the
help I could get. Eventually, the dork tried to sell one of my
customs at the same place I bought it from two weeks earlier...
and from that point, there was a series of LUCKY coincidences which
led to my retrieval of all 4. I'm still missing some stuff like
an Aiwa "walkman"/headphones and a couple guitar straps, but when
I consider how lucky I was to get anything back at all, I don't
mind so much. Basically, it was those phone calls that started
the whole thing - You'll talk to store owners and a lot of musicians
    - people who just might get approached on the street by some theif
looking to unload some guitars. It won't always work, but there's
a chance it will, and it will make you feel like you made an effort,
    anyway. GET ON THE HORN!!!
