1230.1OCI Problem with C++MIASYS::SSAFFERWed Feb 05 1997 18:3220
    Thomas,

    	I have a customer who is having a problem connecting to an Oracle
    database using the OCI interface. Can you be of assistence?

    He is writing his client app using C++, compiling with the CXX compiler
    on OpenVMS/AlphaAXP v7.0, using Oracle 7.3.2.2/OCI. He has tried to
    build and run the sample programs that come with Oracle/OCI and he says
    that they don't work either. The version of CXX is 5.4. He also said
    that the OCI samples *do* work OK with VC++ 4.0 on a workstation. He
    can also connect properly to the database using SQL*Plus on the server,
    but not with OCI.

    Do you know of any special compiler switches or options that might
    solve his problem? If not, do you know anyone with OCI experience
    who might?

    Thanks!
    /Sally.

we ended up using embedded C and not the OCI.
