1042.7Endless startup wait - cause?DONVAN::HARRISWed May 14 1997 17:4320
    I'd like more information on how to determine the cause of a startup
    delay, so I'll just attach to this note, rather than starting a new one.

    We've got a UNIX TruCluster Production Server with two nodes, and three
    shared disks. I set up four or five partitions on each raw device, and
    have one DRD service per device. We've had some hardware problems with
    the disks, so I'm trying to determine whether my troubles are related
    to the disk hardware, or something else...

    One of my coworkers set up a test database last week, and I can't seem
    to get into it today. After I do the: startup pfile=xyz command in the
    service manager, I see the SGA statistics, but then I seem to be in an
    endless wait state, never seeing the database mount or open statements.

    Is there a way to tell what this statement is waiting on? If the disk
    is unavailable, will I eventually get an error, or will it just wait
    forever?
