Cheers,

PS Put this as a new note to a) get noticed and b) 'cos it's a newish

I took an existing cable, the one that used to come with the Pro 350 and
the VR241 and adapted the 'computer end' of the cable to a 23 pin plug.

Hi,

I got a Commodore cable and butchered the monitor end.
Back in the days when DB23s were hard to find.

I built my own, using parts from Radio Shack and cutting a DB25
    connector to fit.

Built my own with passthru for a A520. Hacked DB25 and coax lines.

I worked out which pin is which on the VR241 cable and bought a DB23
and a DB15 and built an adapter cable for it. It seemed the easiest the
    the neatest solution.

Unfortunately I use a multisync monitor now and I butchered the cable
for it so I can't give any pin numbers.

Do you need pin-outs to make one ?

I cut down a DB25 to 23 pins and made my own lead ..

.... Who said DB23s are easy to find and under twice the price. ??

Actually made a cable last night as my Digital one had dodgy keyboard
cases etc. After burning my fingers with the fiddly wires, I switched
on....and it workded. Load better than my TV. Had to bring it back to
work to get the horizontal size stretched as it needs a special allen key.

I got a DB23 from a place in Harrogate, via a place in Leeds. I'll find
an adress if anyone wants?

cheers for the replies.

Has any one with a VT241 monitor been able to stretch the horizontal
to the edges of the screen , on mine the vertical is no problem but the
horizontal won't stretch that final inch .

Also I recently discovered the focus adjustment on the back , I thought
the text resolution was good all along but when I adjusted this It got
even crisper , If I could only stretch the horizontal more ...

Steve,

I don't think it's possible.

I got an engineer to have a look at mine, and we set it wide, whilst on
VMS. I borrowed his allen key tool, and tryed it on the amiga. I turned
until it will turn no more, still and inch left. The image's look ok so
I think that it's at a max. If it could go further, I think the images
would look too thin.

My VR241 has about a 1/2 inch border of black around the edge, with the
settings set for the largest image. I don't mind it.

Set the background color to black and you will not see it at all.

It may be possible to shift the yolk back further,,

But for me the .5 inch black border is Ok..
