| I believe you can connect it directly to Amiga audio. I have a setup
that is similar to yours: I have an 8-channel mixer in which two of the
channels are the Amiga's audio output. The speakers plug into the
mixer's outputs, with no external amplifier. When the mixer is busy
elsewhere I have connected the speakers directly to the Amiga, with
good results.
Note that the Amiga's output is "line level", and that is what my
speakers expect. If your speakers are expecting something else you may
need an impedance matcher. You won't need an amplifier, though.

| I found that I could not get adequate sound from my A1000 by simply
connecting the speakers. As you say, John, there might have been an
impedance mismatch. Anyway, I solved the problem by connecting a
receiver that I picked up cheap. When I updated to a 2000, I just
hooked up everything the same way. The bonus for me is that I can
listen to the radio if I am mucking about in CLI or doing something
that doesn't have sound associated with it. This is a nice feature,
so I have never tried to connect the speakers to the 2000 directly.
