| This is normal, all genlocks do that, at least the Amigen, the C=2300
and the Supergen, these are the ones I tried. When you put a genlock
on the Amiga, it syncs the Amiga TO the video source, since in FF or
REW this clock source is not stable, the screen breaks up. I don't
know what could cause Pro Video to lock up unless they use timing loops
that get screwed up when the clock is jittery. Pro Video is a nice
package, but since they use their own fonts, and don't have accentuated
characters, it is of little value to me since I can't display french
titles.

| re -1. You have that right. I have the same problem with my
SuperGen 2000s. I have noticed that if I have a video source coming
into the amiga, and am in DpaintIII my screen will become ghosted. If
I try to shut dpaintIII down I'll crash. However if I shut down
the video source I can exit ok. I just purchased Broadcast Titler, and
am getting to the point where I will be using it with the supergen.
BT has the ability to controll the supergen automatically according
to the effects you chose for screens. Another thing you will want
to be careful about is your video source. Make sure you black your
tapes before using them. Any unstable video source will break up
the amiga screen. I have been able to work around this problem most
of the time. I think the answer is to put a TBC in line between
the incoming video, and the amiga, but I don't have the funds available
at this time.

| TBC=Time Base Corrector. I haven't priced them yet but all I read
indicates $500+ . I haven't bothered to look into it because at
the present all my funds went for the supergen, and other video
equiptment. What happens is the input to the TBC is put out at a
very steady stable rate. TBC's can be analog,or digital. I imagine
all the latest will be digital. You may want to put a video switch
on your input line, and simply switch it when you Fast Forward. I
still haven't tried genlocking with Broadcast Titler.
