3845.0. "RD53 for Amiga?" by FILTON::FENTON_R (Potassium Ethoxide Rules C2H5OOK) Fri Jun 15 1990 10:24

    Speaking purely hypothetically you understand, if ( I say IF) one
    were to come across an old, unloved RD53 (again, hypothetically,
    being used as a paperweight by one's local IS department), just
    how easy would it be/what would one need to make it function as
    a hard drive on one's Amiga?

    Please bear in mind you're talking to a relatively normal human
    being here...

    Thanks
    Rog

You'll need an st506 controller (like an a2090(a) for the A2000).

Most amiga adapters are scsi only these days. You would need to get a
scsi-st506 converter.

For an A2000 it would cost $200-$300 by the time you got a box and power
supply.

About the same for an A500.

	On the other hand, RD52s come with their own box and power supply
	(the ones that had a Pro 350 in them). You can have two in a box:
	bulky, but cheaper and quite easy to come by nowadays.
