3804.0. "VR297 and Flicker Fixer" by FENRYS::mwm (Mike (Real Amigas Have Keyboard Garages) Meyer) Thu May 24 1990 18:17

I'm in the market for a new monitor. The VR297 on my desk would
look wonderfull attached to an A3000 (and pretty good attached to
an A2000, which is more likely). However -

1) Is the physical connection possible? Will the 241 cabling tricks
discussed in this notesfile work?

2) Will it work with a Flicker Fixer? How about with much overscan under
2.0 or similar?

3) Someone earlier posted a phone/DTN number I could use to get employee
pricing on such. Could that get reposted? Or a pointer to the original
one posted?

	Thanx,

If the VR297 is like our monochrome monitors it won't. It has too
    high a scan rate.

I don't know about the VR297, but the VR241 flicker like hell.
In B/W, I modified my VT220 (amber, high persistence) and it
doesn't flick at all. Good picture/resolution, just the screen
is too small. On the VR241 and the VT220, the video picture uses
about 60% of the screen surface. In order to get the full screen
usage, adjustements will have to be done. I would be surprized
    that the VR297 act otherwise.
