3614.0. "Cable to connect an A2000 keyboard to an A1000" by NAC::BRANNON (value added) Fri Mar 23 1990 21:58
Since there was some interest expressed in this...
I recently went throught the experience of building a cable to
connect an Amiga 2000 keyboard (or CLtd PC style keyboard) to
an Amiga 1000. I took the less risk of smoking my keyboard route
by copying a cable pin for pin that I knew worked.
I'm mostly a software person with limited solder skills, so these
directions are more oriented to people like myself than for hardware
hackers.
Do not read further unless you are willing to risk watching smoke rise
out of your keyboard if you get it wrong.
Basically, all it consists of is just taking a telephone handset cable
and putting a PC keyboard connector (5 pin DIN female) on one end of it.
I got my handset cable from a local department store and the DIN plug
from a cheap PC keyboard extender cable I bought a long time ago.
I've heard that Radio Shack sells the DIN plugs.
I removed/desoldered the DIN plug from the PC keyboard extender cable.
Next cut the handset cord about one foot from the end and expose the
wires to solder the DIN plug to.
The resulting cable should have the following pin outs:
Form a U shape with the cable with both plug ends facing you.
Note: Change the colors to match what your has cable has but keep the
same orientation.

Check pin by pin to make sure your connections are good and then give
it a try.
good luck,
