| Yes, you are using unknown fonts. If I read your PostScript file
correctly, in addition to Times-Roman you are using gothic, oldenglish,
artdeco, data, circus, east and freeform fonts. These fonts do not
come with the LPS40 or LN03R (or any other PostScript printer that
I am aware of) so they must be loaded from the host. Since they
aren't loaded by the PPage 1.3 prologue, you will have to load them
some other way.
The expectation is that if you want to use a font on a printer, you
must purchase the font for the printer.
How do you load these fonts into your home printer?

| I think I understand what I can and can't do now (thanks for the EMAIL
responses). PPage and I believe the CG fonts disk are fonts I can use
to print on PS printers (correct me if I wrong about the CG fonts),
provided the printer supports the font or supplies a substitute. I
noticed that the Prolog in my postscript defined the HelveticaN and
other narrow fonts by resizing the standard ones - so those are
useable.
The fonts I used that presented problems were AmigaDOS fonts that I
created PPage metrics files for - not realizing that they could not be
used in postscript. I'm told that in order to use fonts not defined in
the printer, I must supply the download.
Question 1: Does anyone have a way to create download fonts for
AmigaDOS fonts? Does anyone have some that were already
done?
I went and produced the LN03R's "reset" sheet to grab a list of all
valid fonts. Some I see I have - Some I don't - Some I have that aren't
in the LN03. I'm trying to locate the book so I can see samples of each
of these fonts. Some I'm not familiar with (SchoolHouse for example).
Question 2: Does anyone have a "equivilancy" list or
recommendations for my substituting the DEC fonts for
PPage printouts?
I guess I'm going to have to do the IFF capture idea to get my AmigaDOS
font sample sheets (sigh).
Am I correct in saying that the only real use for AmigaDOS fonts in
PPage is for non-postscript printing?
