3396.0. "General Help on Fish disk !" by PEKING::NONDEP () Sun Jan 28 1990 13:33

    Fish disk query?

I've bought an amiga a few mounths ago in France and brought it
    back in Reading, U.K.

After using this conference for a while i came acrros what you lot
    call Fish disk........

Some one told me that it was the actual public domaine software
available but knew no more about it .

Can someone help me and tell me what to do in order to enable me
to access it and take what i might found usefull in it.

Please remember i know absolutly nothing about computer execpt maybe
connecting the stuff and putting a disk in a drive slot and listen
or read any procedure. I actually access this conference via ALL-IN-1
    and a VT340.

Fish disks are a series of disks (up to 310 as of today) which
contain public domain and shareware software. In note 3285 and replies
you can find the location for a catalog which describes all the
    programs available.
There is another note, recently posted which contains all the
    programs in alphabetical order.

Note 1156.37 gives you the address if you want to obtain them
by mail, or you can download them from TAPE::USER2:[amiga.fish].
There is a subdirectory for each fish disk from 1-300 containing
a .ZOO file with all the contents of that disk.

ZOO is a file compression program. You need a version of it
on your AMIGA in order to extract the programs you need and make
them executable. There is also a version of ZOO for the VAX, so
you can extract only the programs you want to download to your AMIGA.

There are many notes in this conference describing the process
    to upload/download software.
