3247.0. "VectorBalls demo from Germany" by CGOFS::OAKLEY (BCNU2) Thu Dec 21 1989 21:08

    I managed to catch a demo at the club meeting the other night where a
    program called VectorBalls from RED Delta INC (apparently the name of
    one of the German whiz clubs) was run. This demo consisted of Ami
    Boing ball clusters in various shapes dancing about the screen with
    impressive music in the background. Some of the shapes included a
    helicopter, a spaceship and the Boing Juggler. In addition there were
    some text messages appearing at the bottom of the screen.

    Unfortunately I could not get a copy of the demo because the person
    showing it was a game developer and true to form had obtained only a
    memory image from somebody else and was running the demo using a
    copyright program.

    Does anybody happen to have a copy of this demo in its original form?

    I too saw this demo the other night, and just wanted to emphasize how
    fantastic this demo was. I've seen most of the demo animations
    available and would say that this blows them ALL away. It's only about
    300K in size, and runs for about 2-3 minutes before repeating it's self.
    It's written totally in assembly, and I'm still amazed that it's that
    small considering the long soundtrack.

    I'm sure this would of won the BADGE contest if it was entered. So we
    gotta get this one... can anyone in Germany track this down for us...

    I've actually got this demo and your right its excellent!
    It is actually part of a two disk collection of Red Sector demos called
    Mega Demo 2, (some really good stuff on it!)
    The only thing is I've no idea as yet how to upload anything, I am
    being sent Kermit and Xmodem but I havn't received 'em yet...

    Any suggestions?

    I also have the Red Sector Demo and agree with .-1 ; It is a superb
    piece of programming which (if the bad language was taken out) should
    be more widly available to show the capabilities of the Amiga.
    My personal favorites from the demo are the VectorBalls and the
    extremely fast Circle Twist.

3247.4let's try to upload these demosCGOFS::OAKLEYBCNU2Thu Jan 04 1990 03:567

    It's great to hear that a couple of people have the demos, but is there
    any chance that perhaps somebody in their general vicinity could help
    them out in uploading copies for the rest of us?
