3063.0. "Christmas Special" by CADSE::TERELLA () Tue Oct 31 1989 20:10

	The guys at Soft Designs, the Amiga dealer in Belmont Ma.
	(Phone 617-489-4056, Fax 617-489-5230) are offering a special
	package deal on the A500.

	The package includes;

		The Amiga A500 with 501 memory expansion, 2nd Ext 3.5"
		drive, Magnavox Pro Series RGB Monitor, and the Commodore
		Christmas Pkg ( includes a 3 piece starter software
		kit (paint, write, music?) and a $500 coupon book for
		accessories and software.)

	Their advertised (in store) special on this package is $1200.

	For anyone who shows them a DEC badge, the price is $1095.

	They will make this offer available through Christmas, and will
	accept a 10% (non-refundable) deposit as a lay-away if you don't
	have the cash right away. If you call ask for John or Wayne.

	PS. The Magnavox Pro monitor IS the 1084(D) with a couple of
	     extras, like a mono (green screen) mode for word processing,
	     a more powerful amplifier (not stereo) and direct connections
	     for video input (e.g. VCR). If the name plate didn't say
	     "Magnavox Professional" instead of "1084", you couldn't tell
	     the difference.

	If anyone wants more information, give me a call or send me mail.

    nice deal. One nit on the description of the extras - the 1084SD
    does allow for video connection from a VCR - composite video in.
    Not too obvious from the connectors, but it is documented in the
    manual.  Works great.

    Memory Location in Wellesley, Mass, is offering the same deal, but
    not the Digital discount. (I think that the monitor is a standard
    Commodore 1084S.) Nice to see a good, capable package at a reasonable
    price.
