2946.0. "MicroVAX 2000 memory on an A500?" by RLAV::LITTLE (Todd Little, NYA SWS, 323-4475) Fri Sep 22 1989 02:46

    Does anyone know where to get the pin definitions and signal
    definitions for the MicroVAX 2000 memory boards? I'm interested in a
    little hardware hacking and suspect that those boards would make great
    outboard memory for the Amiga. I have some of these boards (the 2 Meg
    variety) that are of absolutely no use to anyone. They were taken out
    of systems that were upgraded to either 6 or 14 Mbytes. I'm willing to
    part with one in exchange for the information necessary to design an
    adapter to allow the board to be connected to the Zorro II bus (or
    whatever the thing on the side of my 500 is).

    Any takers?

Go to your local Reproduction Center (in DEC) and give them the part
number of that board. They can pull and print the entire schematic set for you.

2946.2VAXstation 2000 memory usable?WHAMMY::SPODARYKScaring the pedestrians...Fri Jun 22 1990 15:3916
Would it be possible to use memory from a VAXstation 2000 in any of the
commercial expanders? Has anyone built their own (not that I could)?

The actual chips appear to be of the 256kbit type, but are a bit odd.
They are small, and have pins on all 4 sides. The chip markings are:

8810   U22n
 o  Japan
21 21414 22

I assume that they're at least 120ns. Any ideas?

2946.3Can it be done!SNOFS1::ASHLEYWed Sep 19 1990 07:187
    Has anybody managed to create a board that will controll the memory of
    a microVAX yet?? If somebody has I would be interested in obtaining the
    circuit diagramme, as I have recently come into possesion of a 2 Mb
    memory board for the microVAX and would like to try and get it going on
    my A500.
    Any reply greatly appreciated.
    Mark.

    	I believe the answer to be no....

    	I'd sell it and buy a cup of coffee with the proceeds.
