2810.0. "BRIDGE Trouble again.... ????" by GLORY::SPATOULAS (Don't Automate the Past...Invent the Future...) Mon Aug 07 1989 21:19

After a move across the state and things being packed for 2 months. I lost
my Workbench/Bridge disk. When I tried to recreate one from the original
workbench and PC-install, I keep getting an error message like "missing key
table" "missing table scan code". and then the PC window comes up but no
keyboard instead I get "......" as a response to whatever key I press.

Any Ideas I used to run it in the past. The only new thing since last time,
I added a keyboard extension cable.

Thanks

2810.1Missing directory/files for sure.MQOFS::LEDOUXReserved for Future UseTue Aug 08 1989 13:1614
    I beleive you are missing a directory on your disk.
    I remember seeing in lib/scancode.table or something close
    to that (It could be L/mumbo.table(?)).
    I can check on mine tonight if you can't find them anywhere on yours.

    Those are the code for the keyboard that is passed to the IBM.
    I seem to remember there are 3 of those tables in that directory.

    It is an editable file so all the keys can be changed depending
    on the language of your keyboard. I haven't found what code they
    are using since the file contains a whole bunch of meaningless
    (for me) numbers.

	.1

	Thanks for the info, I will look for those files tonight.
	Please, look for the actual file names also. I am surprised that
	the PC-install program did not copied them.

	Thanks,

    The file is not in Libs/ nor l/ as I previously taught.

    They are in DH?:PC/System/scancode.table along with:
    		              PC.boot
    		  	      2500prefs.
    			      sidecarkeys.table
    			      sidecarsettings.table

      Also you may make sure you have:
    		PC/Services/timeserv.
    			    timeserv.info

    I am quite sure this is your problem.

    Note that the above is from Janus V2. Not too sure about V1.

2810.4Bridgecard and 030 woesRGB::SCOTTWed Sep 05 1990 00:3917
   I found this entry by dir/title - slow but sure. (Mr. Mod, how can we add
keywords? I tried, but no keyword exists for bridgeboards...)

   Anyways, to the problem at hand -

   Does anyone have experenice with a GVP A3001 and a A2088 bridgeboard
setup? My problem is pretty fundamental - when I boot with the GVP
accelerator turned on, and attempt to open the PC display, I get
a "Library not found" requestor. Of course, this doesn't happen when
I boot with the accelerator turned off :-)

  I've tried turning off both caches, and the shadow mapping of ROM,
via SetCPU. Any other sugguestions? Or am I pushing the envelope again :-)

    	This is a know problem with the bridge card. It has to do with
    the 030 being to fast to sync with the bridge card.

    	The solution to to put a pause in your startup sequence. I'll
    look it up tonight but I believe you need about a 4 MINUTE delay
    after binddrivers.
