I have tried to use Matt Dillon's DNET from the fish disks on TAPE:: and I can't get the Client/Server combo Cliterm/scli to work. I am using an A1000 and an A500 connected together locally with no modem. The Fterm/Sterm and getfiles/putfiles work fine, but when the server scli tries to run, it puts up a requestor asking for XXXsysdisk:, the XXX appear to be an inverted 0,a 6 and a .(06.). I hope I am making this part clear? This function is the one that allows the running of the other systems CLI and is a very important piece, any suggestions? Is anybody using it successfully? Thanks in advance, need help!!! Steve

ALmost sounds like you got a corrupted file somewhere. Try to find that sequence in the exe with NEWZAP, and change it to something you can do an ASSIGN to (to point back to where your DNET server resides) John | |||||

Thanks John, I tried what you suggested, to no avail, I recopied ff220 to my amiga and rebuilt, same results. To make a long story short, the 06. was being picked up from my process number and the server was executing s:remote-startup, which contains a line "execute s:shell-startup" which tried to execute all of my shell startup stuff and alias' etc. Does anyone know what is supposed to be in this execute file ??shell-startup?? for it to properly work with dnet server scli? |
