    SCULPT-3D 3D Modeling software, creates wireframes and
    			ray tracings from user-input geometry. Still the
    			best user interface of all the myriad modelers.

    Deluxe Paint	Need I say more? Still haven't upgraded to III.

    For Productivity I'm plased with:
    ---------------------------------
    Diskmaster I think it's the greatest utility I've seen

    Excellence! Word Processing (good family use, easy o learn)
    			and - beautiful postscript on an LPS40!

    Maxiplan Plus	Spreadsheet. Much nicer than I expected.

    Draw 2000 New, and starting to grow on me ....
    			2D object oriented CAD system. Could be better
    			but it meets my needs (reasonable price/performance)
			Guess it's as close to MacDraw as I'm gonna get!

    For Fun:
    --------
    Deluxe Music	Gives pretty nice results. It sure could could
    			use some user interface enhancements.

    PhotoLab/DPaint	These are a toss up to me. They each sport
    			features the other lacks. Right now I favor
    			DPaint as being the best all around.

    Never being the overly serious computer type my favourites are:

    Utilities
    ---------

    o Deluxe Paint II (need upgrade)
    o Microfiche filier (its actually quite reasonable for the price
                         - but dont expect miricles!!!)
    o Award maker plus (got to be the greatest little package since
                        sliced bread)
    o Gizmoz - ok but I'd like a better terminal emulator
    o Kindwords - quite a nice little WP

    GAMES:
    ------

    o The Bards Tale I & II - FANTASTIC!!!
    o Rocket Ranger - excellent game/little slow in places
    o Test Drive - Good fun
    o Hybris - good shoot em up

2539.7Gimme that SetCPU 1.5 :-)FRAMBO::BALZERWed May 10 1989 09:079

    Would it be possible to send me that SetCPU 1.5???
    Or even better make it available on Tape::
    I currently use 1.4 and am quite happy with it (especially FASTROM),
    but would like to get rid of that clicking...

    I assume that it is out of gamma testing by now...

    I suspect Dave will make it available on PLINK this weekend. I prefer
    not to distribute the Gamma 4 version. It does appear to be relatively
    bug-free at this point.

    Re .8
    OkeyDokey, please upload it somewhere into the EasyNet as soon it's
    finished. A PLINK account from here (Germany) would leave me starvin.
    Thanks,

2539.11Conman???dropcloth???37090::HERBThu May 11 1989 00:2011
    My most useful program is utilimaster but it does not support zoo
    or warp. I always use it to move around files.

    What is MachII??? I have heard so much about it but I do not know
    what it does.

    Also I like Jlib 2.0a which adds commands to amigabasic. Is there
    any othjer program that does this?

2539.12Conman, dropcloth, and MachIIEUCLID::OWENYou Are the EverythingThu May 11 1989 01:0021

    Conman controls CLI windows. It lets you shrink/expand/close windows
    at the touch of a button.

    Dropcloth is a 'novelty' program that I use to set my Workbench
    screen apart from all others. It puts a pattern (or 4 color picture)
    of your choice on the entire workbench screen. When you open a
    window, the backround in the window is plain (no pattern) so it
    is easy to see all windows you have open.

    MachII is necessary (IMO). It lets you speed up the mouse (to any
    level), blank the screen (at any time, and at any level), blanks
    the mouse pointer at any time (if you want). It also lets you define
    all the function keys and set the time.

    MachII also displays the time, chip-mem, and fast-mem at all times
    in the title bar at the top of the screen. It allows you to set
    time alarms, and low memory warnings.

2539.13More junk...EUCLID::OWENYou Are the EverythingThu May 11 1989 01:0418
    Oh yea,
    I also have (on my workbench disk)

    o	B.A.D.  Disk re-organizer.
    o	Turbo Backup V1.00 (a quick/simple disk copier)

    I also use quite a bit...
    o	Wordperfect
    o	deluxe paint
    o	pro-draw
    o	pro-page
    o	online
    o	audiomasterII
    o	sonix
    o	maxiplan

    That all for now...

2539.14Utilimaster is totally configurable...CGOFS::CADAMSClint Adams - Calgary, CanadaThu May 11 1989 01:387

    re.. .11

    Utilimaster has configurable gadgets, it's real easy with the
    configuration utility (UmUtil) to have UtiliMaster do anything you
    can do from CLI or a Shell. Read up on UmUtil docs.
