2320.0. "LA50 for WB 1.3 HELP!" by HPSTEK::SENNA () Fri Mar 03 1989 17:15

   	 Can someone tell me if there is a newer la50 driver that works with
         wb1.3? I haven't used it in so long I forgot about checking
         up on it! I get text fine just no graphics using dpaint!
    	 I seem to remember something being said but I must have been on
    	 another planet!

2320.1I'm looking for the LA50 driver too STAR::ROBINSONFri Mar 03 1989 18:1310
As far as I know, there is no updated version. I'll put in my plea for one
here too. The only work around mentioned was copying the WB 1.2 printer.device
(I think that is the name) over to your WB1.3 disk. I would think someone,
somewhere must have created a new driver by now, but I guess nobody reading
this file has. I know that I have seen ads for public domain disks with
"Over 30 printer drivers" but have not investigated. Besides I don't really
approve of those places that package PD/Shareware and sell it a $6 a disk...

2320.2LA50 and Preferences...AKOV11::SMITHEd...Tue Mar 07 1989 22:3723
    I too would like to see a 1.3 driver if anyone has updated it.

    For now though I seem to be having a problem/misunderstanding
    about the 1.2 LA50 driver and preferences. Here's the problem...

    I set, in preferences, my driver to LA50, Speed to 4800 leftmargin
    to 15 and print to letter quality. If I then do a

    			CLI> COPY TEST.TXT PRT:

    I get a draft quality, no left margin printout. Letter quality
    work fine in manual (LA100). Does the LA50 driver not handle these
    parameters specified in preferences? Also with the above parameters
    saved if I reboot the Speed gets reset to 9600 and the driver to
    generic. I then have to go into preferences and hit the last saved
    gaget to restore them. Why do the call it preferences if you have
    to manually reset then every reboot? This doesn't seem right.
    I have been using a copy of the PD SETPREFS to resolve this.

    Thanx,

    ...Ed
