2223.0. "Looking for WP and LA75 info" by CHUNK::HENNESSY () Thu Feb 09 1989 02:32

    	New user seeks wordprocessor and printer input.
    	FILM at 11. Well maybe some neat animations on the AMIGA
    	would be better.

    	I have signed out an LA75.
    	Now I need the driver. Does anyone out there have a good
    	useful driver for the LA75? In one of the old notes there
    	is mention of such but no pointer to it.
    	Also where on the WKBNCH or EXTRAS disk are the supplied
    	drivers located. I have done everything I know to find them.

    	Any input on wordprocessors?
    	I am leaning toward PROWRITE V2.

    	Thanks,
    		Rich.

    Workbench 1.2 disks keep the drivers in the devs:printers directory.
    For 1.3, only the generic driver is on the Workbench disk (in the
    same directory). The remaining drivers are on the Extras 1.3 disk in
    the devs/printers directory.

    I use ProWrite V2, and find it quite satisfactory for WYSIWYG editing.

2223.3EpsonX Driver under WB 1.3OTOFS::S_SCHMIDTStu SchmidtThu Feb 09 1989 21:1720
    I have been using the LA75 with my Amy for the last two years.
    Before 1.3 came along, I used an LA75 driver which I generated for
    Text output, and an IBM_Proprinter driver for Graphics output (of
    course I had to switch the LA75 into "other" mode every time, and
    had to change drivers often). Why all this??? The IBM_ProPrinter
    driver produced faster cleaner graphic output.

    All that is ancient history now. With 1.3 I have been using the
    EPSONX driver and have left my LA75 in "other" mode continually.
    Much faster (of course) and much more control over the graphic density
    and parameters. I use it for text as well with no complaints.

    I don't know of a new LA75 "Digital" driver for 1.3. But then again,
    I haven't bothered to go looking since the EpsonX driver supplied
    with 1.3 works so well.

    Cheers,

    Stu
