2187.0. "HELP LOADING KERMIT ON HARDDRIVE" by FARMER::ROY () Thu Feb 02 1989 03:52

My problem is this. I have Kermit on the FF disk and I want to
transfer it to my hard drive so I can free up my DF0 to download
files. I have tried everything from dragging the icon over a new
drawer to actually copying the disk from df0 to dh1, no luck. I
would like to access Kermit from the hard drive. Can anyone help
    me.

             Thanks, BobX

Don't you mean 'copying the disk from df0 to dH0'? DF1 is your
second floppy, not your hard drive. (Unless you have a non-standard
    setup)

What KERMIT do you have? I use HANDSHAKE 2.12A for connecting to
the vax. It's got KERMIT, XMODEM, and YMODEM built in. With it,
you can just copy the HANDSHAKE executable to wherever you want.
Of course it'll want to put it's parameters file in ... either S:
or SYS:, I think, but... that's nothing any well-adjusted AMIGA
    system can't handle, right?

How about giving us a but more info on your drive setup (i.e. have
hard disk DH0: which I boot/don't boot from, which contains my C:,
S:, etc. directories, ... that kind of thing), and on how you would
LIKE it to be (i.e. I'd like to put an emulator in my C: directory
so that I can run it from anywhere, or I'd like to put it in a
directory DH0:KERMIT with an icon so that I can call it from
    WORKBENCH).
