2162.0. "FF163 ? on WJG::" by DISCVR::HAXTON () Wed Jan 25 1989 20:39

  H E L P .........

     I have downloaded the Fred Fish 163 files which I got from
WJG::dua1:[amiga].  The files are FF163A.WRP, FF163B.WRP, and FF163.WRP.  I
have never used WARP before but I finally figured out that that must be what
the .WRP meant on the end of the file name so I retrieved WARP11 and used it to
decompress the files. My problem is that FF163A decoded to tracks 0-19, FF163B
decoded to tracks 20-39, and FF163C decoded to tracks 60-79. What happened to
tracks 40-59??? I assume that there must be another file which I do not have
which must contain these tracks. Could not find any other portion in WJG::
     Does anyone know where it is or am I simply using the WARP utility
incorrectly. I am still pretty new to DEC and downloading in general so that
is quite possible. Any help or instructional info would be greatly appreciated.

                                    Thanks,
                                    Kevin Haxton

You're right, there should be another WRP file with the other 25% of the disk.
I'll bet it'll show up soon. Right, guys? :-)

2162.2Thats all I got!WJG::GUINEAUThu Jan 26 1989 10:5818
Hmm. Thats interesting. I never noticed it. The FF147%.WRP has an A,B,C,
and D.

I just noticed there is now FF168 - FF170 up on CGOU01::AMNEW: (where
I got FF147 and 163).

There on thier way over now. (in that window over there ---> :-)

BTW - On WJG there are 2 areas to look in:

	WJG::AMIGA:
	WJG::AMNEW:		(ok, so I plagiarized a bit!)

AMNEW: is where I stuff stuff before I download it to home.

2162.3Misnaming problems?LEVERS::PLOUFFWes PlouffThu Jan 26 1989 12:535
    Last week there were TWO versions of FF163C.WRP on CGOU01::. Then
    a couple of days later there was only FF163C.WRP;2. Obviously Clint
    is being a good doobie and purging his files regularly. But in
    this case it's caused a problem. Clint, could you please upload
    the real FF163C again?
2162.4all straightned out now...CGOU01::OAKLEYWhat am I doing here...Thu Jan 26 1989 15:5016
    Clint, is on training for a couple of weeks.

    But, I think what happened was that ff163d.wrp was accidently named
    ff163c.wrp;2.  So, I have uploaded both c & d again.

    For those who have already copied a,b,c I suggest that you rename c to
    d and copy the new c file to end up with the full set.

    BTW: does anybody have any specific requests for the latest disks.
    We have a local BBS who is keeping up to date with these files and
    we can get them during the day (usually only one disk per day because
    even at 2400 it takes almost an hour).

    Yes, I have a couple of specfic requests... I'll have to look up
    the disk numbers at home. I'll post them in the next day or so.

messing up.......messing up..........messing up...........messing up......
with WARP.

Sorry,...................... I glitched for a second.
