2034.0. "got chips - need board" by FSCORE::KAYE (Be seeing you) Thu Dec 22 1988 15:48

I just lucked into some memory chips and need some info about what
kind of board i need to utilize them. The chips are Hitachi 16 pin
dips - 256P-12's. Does anyone know what kind of board will accept
    these?

2034.1Spirit Internal Memory BoardLDPDM8::DJERBAKAThu Dec 22 1988 16:3713

I have a brand-new still in shipping-box Spirit Internal memory
with battery-backed clock for A1000. It is populated with 1/2 MEG
and your memory chips could boost the A1000 to 2 MEGs of memory.

I bought this mail order for $419 plus shipping. I have just run
into a great deal on a Amiga 2000, and would like to sell the memory
    board. I'm trading the A1000 w/512K for the A2000. Asking $350
for the board which has a 1.5 Meg capability.

Send mail to LDPDM8::DJERBAKA if interested.

I'm still looking for help locating a board that will accept 256k
chips. Either new or used. I've sent mail to elwood::peters, but
can't seem to get a response yet.

2034.5can you add memory in 256K chunks?58384::KAYEHe who dies with the most toys...is deadFri Jan 20 1989 15:418
Another question on the same topic...

If i buy an unpopulated memory board do i have to fill it? I look
at is this way, if the chips are 256K, then i should be able to
put in 256K at a time (16 chips). Can the Amiga support this, or
is it 1M at a time minimum?

16 - 256K chips is 512K bytes (256*16/8).

Amiga memory boards that accept 256k chips usually can be configured
as:

	512 K bytes
or	1 Megabyte
