1961.0. "a deal?" by FSCORE::KAYE (Be seeing you) Wed Dec 07 1988 00:28

    I bought my Amiga last weekend and the dealers up here seem to have
    a Commodore sponsored perk for purchasing a system.
    They have the following packages for sale:

    Word Perfect + Superbase Personal + VIP Professional	CDN$200
    Zoom + Arkanoid + Bards Tale + Bubble Ghost + Mean 18	CDN$99

    There is another, but he didn't have it so i don't know what it
    contained (music & video stuff from my recollection). How do these
    deals sound? I think i have a couple of months to think about it.

    Sounds like a great deal to me!
    They're giving a vcr away with some software if you buy the 500!

    I purchased the Wordperfect/Superbase/VIPspreadsheet package when
    I bought my son his 500 a couple of weeks ago.

    While Wordperfect is not V5, it is very good. VIP spreadsheet is
    almost a Lotus clone. Commands are identical but harder to find.
    Superbase appears to be a reasonable personal database, my son is
    cataloguing his comic book collection and doing well.

    I priced the individual packages at approx $600 Canadian so it is
    a good deal. I was told that the special expired at Christmas.
