I guess the problems with BOMBE last week brought a couple of things home to
me. I hope that no-one takes the existance of this file for granted and that
everyone is aware of its true worth and how privileged we are in Digital to
have something like this available to us.
What a notes file ! Boy, do I consider myself lucky to have such a wonderful
resource available. Questions answered, help given, disks sent, tips, news,
cameraderie etc. I'm sure that I would not have been half as comfortable with
my Amiga as I am, had this notesfile not existed. No flames (do we even HAVE a
moderator ? - must do a show mod sometime).
When I see some of the neophite questions being asked in Amiga magazines, and
some of the "CLI for beginners" type articles, I feel sorry for the many, many
people who don't have the support of such a really great bunch of people like
we have.
So I'd just like to use this topic to say a broadband thank you to all of
the contributors to the notesfile, keep it up.

Must agree with .0 on what a great notesfile we have here, where
both advanced and beginner can ask (sometimes stupid) questions
and receive answers without being ridiculed. Quite a bit different
to what seems to come through USENET at times!
Trouble is that I'm leaving DEC on 30th Nov (retiring early) and
will have more free time to play with Amy....but will no longer
have access to the NET to enable me to use it better. O woe is
me! Pity there's no "associate EASYNET membership"!

I agree, this conference has brought me from a new user without
a clue, to a relatively new user with quite a few clues. 8^)
But one problem still remains, even after reading EVERY note on
the subject, I still can't....
Upload or Download to my vax.
I'm using Online on my end.
If any of you have a FULL list of steps to take (settings, what
commands to type, etc.), could you please send me a copy at
EUCLID::OWEN
It would be GREATLY appreciated!
