1854.0. "Commodore boings back!" by ROMULN::MYEE (Boycott Styrofoam cups, save the ozone.) Fri Nov 04 1988 16:29
Some good news about Commodore. Now if only DEC could do as well
now. May be DEC should have made a deal to sell Amiga instead of
Tandy PeeCees?
From the Vogon news service:
Fiscal news - Commodore
Commodore - First quarter net climbs 52% as turnaround continues
First quarter net income rose 52% to $9.6 million from $6.3 million a year
ago, when the company had a $1.3 million tax credit. Sales rose 15% to $200.2
million from $173.9 million. Commodore's chairman, Irving Gould, said the
latest results reflect significant expansion in sales from Commodore's
expanded product mix in its line of Amiga personal computers, the MS-DOS
personal computer compatibles and the traditional C64/C128D computers in
Europe, North America and Australia. The results also reflect a higher profit
margin and better control over expenses, he said.
