1457.0. "OOOOOooooo! He makes me Sooooo AAaangry!!!" by VIDEO::LEIBOW (Michael Leibow) Sat Jun 04 1988 07:14

On page B-52 of the Amiga Exec manual, there is supposed to be an
example description of an IFF FTXT CHRS file.

    The text looks like this:

    --START OF MISPRINT:

    FTXT Example
    ------------

Here is a box diagram for a simple example: "The quick brown fox
jumped Four score and seven," written in a proportional serif font
    named "Roman."

    	+-----------------------------------+
    	|'FORM' 24070 |
    	+-----------------------------------+
    	|'ILBM' |
    	+-----------------------------------+
    	| +-------------------------------+ |
    	| | 'BMHD' 20 | |
    	| | 320, 200, 0, 0, 3, 0, 0, ... | |
        | | ------------------------------+ |
    	| | 'CMAP' 21 | |
    	| | 0, 0, 0; 32, 0, 0; 64,0,0; .. | |
    	| +-------------------------------+ |
    	| +-------------------------------+ |
    	| |'BODY' 24000 | |
        | |0, 0, 0, ... | |
        | +-------------------------------+ |
    	+-----------------------------------+

    -- END OF MISPRINT

The --MISPRINT words are mine. Everything inbetween is typed exactly
the same way that it appears in the RKM.

Misprints like these really, really, really make me angry.

Don't they have editors? The interlace bit mapped graphic IFF stuff
is described in a later section. How could an ILBM example get
into the FTXT section? If the guys who wrote the FTXT section would
have proofread it at least ONE time, they would have caught this
    blatant error.

I Now, Flame, Set on fire, Pressure-cook, Steve Shaw (Electronic
Arts), Jerry Morrison (Electronic Arts), and Bob Burns
(Commodore-Amiga). How could you jerks publish this?

    	No Flame Off...

I will never cool down from this disgusting crap...
