1380.0. "Monopoly" by CGFSV2::CADAMS (Clint Adams - Calgary, Canada) Tue Apr 26 1988 18:31

Hi..

Does anyone have the ABasic game "Monopoly" that is on FF #15
running? I don't have FF #15 and the copy I pulled down from a local
BBS does not look complete.

If someone could upload the game or FF #15 I would be eternally
grateful.

Also, another PD game I have heard about is a "Wheel of Fortune" type
game, if anyone has come across this one I'd be interested to hear a
short review.

                Regards....  Clint

1380.2Monopoly needs ABasiCLEDS::ACCIARDIWed Apr 27 1988 02:0410
    I have Monopoly, but how many of you have ABasiC? Probably not
    many.

    If noone objects, I can WARP the whole disk, ABasiC and all, and
    upload it here. I'm just not sure about the status of ABasiC, and
    don't want to get my butt in a sling...

    Anyone know for sure?

1380.3Amiga Basic on V1.2 Extras DiskCGFSV2::CADAMSClint Adams - Calgary, CanadaWed Apr 27 1988 15:4410
Amiga Basic was included on the Workbench 1.2 Extras disk and judging
from the number of people who bought Amigas since Workbench 1.2, I
would say you are in the minority if you don't have it.

The ARC file I pulled down from the BBS (the incomplete one) had
Abasic included, but that doesn't seem proper to me. If you don't
mind, just the Basic sources and the pics for the game would be
appreciated.

                Regards....  Clint

    ABasic and Amiga Basic are not the same. ABasic was originally
    distributed with V1.0 of the workbench/AmigaDOS.

1380.5I thought there was only one Basic for the AmigaCGFSV2::CADAMSClint Adams - Calgary, CanadaWed Apr 27 1988 15:539
Well, you learn something new everyday... I assume also that Amiga
Basic will not run Abasic sources??

I guess that reopens the question on whether or not to put it on the
enet.

                Regards....  Clint

P.S. I wonder how difficult it would be to convert?
1380.6I think ABasic is PDEAYV01::THOMSONC'mon, git aff! /The Kelty ClippieThu Apr 28 1988 11:4511
    I recently bought an issue of JUMPDISK ( an amiga magazine on a disk)
    and in their 'back issues' section it stated that ABasic had been
    declared PD _in_the_UK_ and was included on some of the earlier
    issues which included ABasic games.

    I also have a suspicion that ABasic may be on one or more of the
    early Amicus disks (early ones #<10).

    I'm therefore about 99% certain that ABasic is PD.

    A quick call to CBM could confirm that.
