1378.0. "Need keyboard ext cable" by CAMTWO::ARENDT (DDT - The first and still the best) Tue Apr 26 1988 03:50

Has anyone out there heard of any company who is selling extension
cords for the amiga 2000 printer. I tried making my own straigth
thru cable but I ran into problems with it and was afraid of screwing
up my amiga. I would like this so that I could mount my amy 2000
on the floor next to my desk on it's side. I think that my hard
disk and floppys would operate and I have found good extentions
for the two mouse/joystick ports (at Radio Shack) however the cord
for my keyboard is not long enough. I would appriciate any input.

    Thank you for your support.

Printer ? did I say printer? I meant keyboard cable. God how I hate
it when you have said yes enter the note and then you see an error.

When I make thaat mistake, I say "DELETE" followed by "yes" and
REPLY/EDIT/LAST, which gives me an opportunity to try not to look so
dumb.

I have done some checking on this -- I also would like to get the
box away from the desk top. It seems that the keyboard cable is
compatible with the IBM PC Keyboard CABLE. That is the cable pinout
only... But there are some keyboard extension cables out on the
market that might fit your needs.

If nothing else, I had the chance to look at the cable recently.
Though I might be mistaken, it think you would be able to make an
extension cable by visiting your local electronics supply store.
It seems to be a fairly standard connector.
